If you pay attention in class, do the reading, and understand the concepts, then the AP GOPO test is fairly easy and the course shouldn’t be considered “hard” when compared with other AP tests.

Many students ask me whether the AP Language test or the AP Literature test is harder. Different students may find different tests harder, but in general, the AP Literature test is harder.
How are AP English essays scored?
Each essay is read by experienced, well-trained high school AP teachers or college professors. The essay is given a holistic score from 1 to 9. The reader assigns a score based on the essay’s merits as a whole, on what the essay does well; the readers don’t simply count errors.
